Sunday Nights @ Rosie McCann's

Yo! I just got word (still awaiting the exact specifications) that Sunday nights at Rosie McCann's is on... That means Mad Zach and Friends holdin' it down every week downtown with a fat sound system and good beer. Call your friends, grab your mugs, and dust off your riverdance shoes because this means we're going to be more legit than ever before.

I'd like to make it known I have every intention of making this weekly available to all who are interested. Basically, I'm going to need as much help as I can get with stuff like, playing music, finding music, making art, creating propaganda flyers and footage, drinking beer, freeloading, afterparty, public nudity, darts, bass, remixes, dj's, bands, you know the drill. I want to expand it past just a dj event to a crew reppin' hangout with all kinds of good stuff to partake.

So here's what we need:
A NAME
Subharmonic Sundays (too trendy?), Selecta Sundays, Riverdance Step (considering the Irish theme), Crunk Funk, I don't know help me out here

A BRANDING
some kind of logo or consistent imagery to add variance to each week.

PEOPLE
tell your friends, or your friends friends, or your friends friends friends

ATTRACTIONS
lets book performance stuff as well, no fire or anything but maybe some of that neo burlesque or magic

also, we need dj's and music more than anything else so if you know anyone who will throw down or have any ideas of who I might want to contact, let me know or direct them to madzachproductions@gmail.com

Olympic torch ride, mini bike hill climbs, downhill races, bike-drawn
chariot death matches, fashion shows, bike beauty contests, live
music, DJ's, community brunches, death, destruction, mayhem, no-pants
dance parties, Olympic-inspired feats of bike strength and stamina,
and of course, a little bit of nudity. Ok, so more like a lot of
nudity. Mini Bike Winter is a phenomenon that should not be missed,
and if you do, you will be ridiculed by all of your friends and
family.

BEN HURT III Chariot Wars be a post-apocalyptic battle for life and limb.
YAR! It be a true test of might and stoopidity. Can you ride a little
girl's bike and get hit the most hardest by a padded mace? Or would
you rather cheat, (cheating is allowed) and use chicken-shit bombs
made from real chicken-shit like the chicken-shit you are?! Or maybe
just show up in your underwear and win anyway because you are badass?
Hey, it happened last year...
There will be a multitude of chariot tests, from speed to steed,
gladiator to flatulator, chugger to bugger, flailing to wailing, and
dying. Yes dying, and after that, drinking. Okay, fine, during too.

The time has come to make our decision. There were over 75 applicants. Honestly, we did not expect such an incredible response. Of course, this has made the selection process very challenging. We did manage to narrow it down to 10.

Tour involves sleeping on a bus with 13 other people and a chicken. Space is limited so it is super important to be very tidy. We do not have hotels every night. The band prefers to sleep on the bus and stay with friends. It's a lot like camping. If you like camping, you'll love touring.

Really, tour is mostly an incredible and fun adventure. If you look at it like an adventure you will learn a lot about yourself and your art form. And be part of many wonderful moments.

Thanks to Millz for the excellent work on the shooting/editing of the vid!
Anyway, I think this will be a great opportunity to learn the ins and outs of curating/producing/touring a large performance spectacle. Many lessons to be learned and applied to our own Team Sweet adventures!

Not sure who else knows of the current project that's going on - the variety show production piece r2, zach, myself and a few others have been talking about...but if you're interested in assisting/performing/set building/etc...hit up the massive and say YO!

So many talented individuals in the crew...time for us all to shine...brightly and the right way. This feels to me like a paradigm shift folks. Who's ready to live their art?

Not that we're trying to trick anyone but this chapter is worth a read (or the whole book if you choose, is excellent and is a great demonstration of a quality narrative).

Preview of the Vegas Show

Hey Loves.

Just letting you know we'll be having an open dress rehearsal on Sunday January 18th at 6:30pm at Motion Pacific (downtown Santa Cruz) for the piece we'll be performing for Alina Malletti in Las Vegas. In case I haven't already told you, Alina Malletti is a drag queen competing in Miss Gay USA (the drag queen equivalent of Miss America), and I'm one of her dancers, along with my lovely burlesque colleague Melissa and some others. Alina is fabulous and has already won a lot of titles, and puts on a damn good show. Hope to see you there <3

Sorry it's taken me so long, but here's some fabulosity. First up, yevvie doing phatty flips at one of the check points (Tramp Camp) during the Burningman Alley Cat

We paused during the alley cat at Swamp Camp to drink some beer and take this photo (one photo I'm really sad I don't have is when yevvie crushed all our beer cans with his shoulder blades at another check point. Needless to say, people went wild)
