Yo you guys, got some new photos on flickr, i am going to be in SD until the 1st week of june, and i am taking my comp and cam so i should come back with some video nuggets. but anyways i want to finish the strained project then and we should set up another movie night for January and showcase some more of our stuff and a feature. Also i am thinking about late feb/early march for the next art show i want to throw. sorry i missed the you guys' sets tonight, let me know how it went.

oh and if you want a sweet crip mas present ask me for one. I made a fatty MP3 ghetto mix titled a dinglebery in a pirates booty. call it an end of the year morsel. i think i will leave a few on the freetable when i bounce in a few hours.

Cabrillo is sneaksniping classes: if not the minimum number of students sign up, they will shut the class down permanently.

If you can register for AP40VA photography section, please do; If you can't, do it anyway and then drop in in a few weeks... You won't be charged and the class will be saved.


Either way its a sure fire way of saving video as art.


Also want to make clear because of the whole conspiracy, it's important that the first project be super8 FILM, and also should exibit cabrillo CAMPUS as much as possible, even if not using the school name.

I believe its best that this be a school project specifically so we don't lose the rights to our best ideas or make devil's dance-hall get swallowed somehow by cabrillo and their agenda.. and also can use the resources we accumulate to run our own projects better. Ideally, we will be able to use this project to also separately fuel our own projects, including the equipment and labour force, actors and notoriety we gain...

I say we should make a Cabrillo super8 Cinematek club FILM short around 21 minutes long with colour and black and white scenes and with the steadicam arm and new film lights cabrillo has;

and meanwhile build the resources and work on the puppets and claymation scenes for zach's devil's dance hall, we can even film it at the paul sweet and cabrillo, but lets have something else to turn in as cabrillo cinematek propaganda. Something about community college, video, and insanity (maybe he talks to Nancy Reagen)


Don't get me wrong we should make devils dance hall, I'm not even saying wait on it; I'm saying lets make it independently, or at least parasitically off the state propaganda...

after all, the state represents our love for the music.

Yard Dogs Wants Who?!...

Sooo…things are happening at a reasonable rate. I’m in Cali now! Seems I’ve caused a bit of a stir amongst some fair Santa Cruzians. Seems I’ve caused some excitement farther down the rabbit hole as well, as folk far and wide have begun to bug me about when I would have the reel ready. The Yard Dogs Road Show recently contacted me as well - stating that they were holding auditions and haven’t ever done so in 9 years! Better get on it!

What I’d like to know from you all - who may know the yard dogs…what were your gut feelings watching their stage performance for the first time? what did you feel they were missing if anything? Do you have any ideas that might be helpful in the way of attacking this footage knowing their current aesthetic and standards?

We all know I can bust a move - but I’d like to be smart in my approach. I think I have a good chance, been emailing them for a bit now…Kind of cool that this would be the first ever “audition” for their group in their 9 years of existence!

Zach, I know you volunteered to help - Smurf too…I’m down for HD quality - it’ll prob set me apart from whoever else they’ve invited…I dunno…ideas? Hit me on my 2way ya heard?!

The Great Weight: BodiGram

Hello hello all. I know it's a bit last minute and all, but I wanted to invite everyone to come see me perform with BodiGram (a dance company) at CounterPulse this Sunday Dec. 14th from 2pm-4pm. We will be one of four groups featured in a monthly showcase of works-in-progress called "2nd Sundays". It should be quite interesting.

Here's a bit about BodiGram, in case you might be curious...BodiGram Dance Company is an emerging dance company formed by choreographers Blair Bodie and Julia Graham. Brought together by their interests in Asian philosophy and movement traditions as well as improvisation and somatic awareness, they blend Western and Eastern thought and form.

You can check out the details of our performance on the CounterPulse website, as well as check out other really sweet events like Frolic: CircusDragBurlesque that happens this weekend as well.

In other news though my house, the Capp St. Co-op, is great, positive, creative and a little bit wild, I was kind of hating San Francisco until yesterday night, when I finally met people I connect with; clowns (literally) of all sorts who also happen to Burners <3 They are all about dark and light circus, cabaret, dance and aerial arts, etc. and introduced me to some events along those lines. So, though I miss Santa Cruz and its forests with a fiery passion, SF is no longer filed under "stupid" to my mind. I miss y'all too and you should come stay with me when you come to San Francisco, or even just come to romp in the city with me.

so I've been asking for donations from companies to cinematek24, our new cabrillo video coop. I was just informed that we will be receiving a stabilization system, however we need to fully administer the coop to complete official charter requirements.

Cinematek24 has five required positions:
president
vicepresident
treasurer
secretary
icc rep
alterep


I am willing to be the first president of Cinematek24 in order to get the ball rolling, though I indent cinematek24 to continue indefinitely. I would like mikey millz to be vice president, if mikey millz permits. I will ask katie if she is willing to participate as treasurer or secretary but we still have other needs.
