So I need to get my dance vids (and weirdo art painty-rolly vid) edited up so I can send that shiznit to Evan and get my website of dance rolling already (come on, how many months have we been talking bout this now?). I picked up the DVD from the dance show I was in over winter (that ya'll filmed as well) today, but, they happened to film the worst night for both pieces. I can deal with these versions, but I'd prefer to have yours. Weekends are really good times for me to meet. And if you can't do it (don't have time whatever), I ain't mad atcha, but let me know because then I need to find someone else to help me. ASAP.

Andreas, how's the paint one coming? Finished yet?

there is an art show @ paul sweet @8pm this Friday the 18th of april that will feature the artwork of :Millz, Smurf, Janelle(chavez), Oper(SD), Gaps(SD), ALAX, Rick Sakow(SF), Ryan(SC) christine(RIP) Micah, Maxwell, Kelly Peach, Nichole and a few more. the turntables will be spinning from 8pm to 2am thanks to MadZack, R2, DJ Aggro, DJ Mtheory, Pizza, and Jomo. There is also going to be some spoken word by Lyricaleye around 10pm. there is going to be a raffle of art supplies and art and a bar going all night. there will be desserts whipped up by decadent dankness. and there will be firespinning later in the evening.there will also be a live mural painting by Oper, Alax, and MIllz, a free table of deliciousness and an open art table for you to get down at. and maybe there will even be a poloroid camera. come through and do what you do.

an R2 update

Howdy Massers..
Much has happened with me in the past weeks and a lot of people are wonderin "Where's R2?"

Well, I've gained a lot of momentum in the world of audio and I've had 0 time to communicate with anybody outside the grind of the studio.

Most of my work has been for hire by this guy Jeremy Wheeler who's working on his full-length debut album but I haven't been working exclusively on that project.
Since the beggining of our last wave of recording we've recorded some of the best studio musicians I've ever met, achieved some of the sickest tones I've gotten in my career as engineer, and I even got to record an entire orchestra! (twice!). Now I have to start mixing the damn thing.

I got an awesome opportunity to go do a bit of work at the world class Hyde St studios in SF. Met some 'famous' and not-so-famous people, got to check out a slew of high quality gear that I will never be able to afford, picked the brains of people who move a lot of weight in the world of multimedia, but more or less took a few leaps forward on my path as an contributer to music.

I should really put my google calendar in a more accessible place for everyone to look at because the first time I posted it I wanted to express to everyone that I was going to 'disappear' from our groove for well over 3 weeks. Please don't take any offense. I don't love any body or any project any less than I did before. I'm just operating within realistic parameters taking into account time, income, energy, and ability to focus.

HOWEVER ... Yuri's night thats where you'll catch R2 narwallagramin' and I'm quite excited to have a game plan and a solid crew to go with. I'll be back in the swing for that and I have been hungrily awaiting the chance to dive more into actionscript and the technology of arkaos, flash, laser tag, opensource apps. The whole deal so that we can bust some shit like this:

Yo! You guys have to check out this duo called "Love Gutter." I just saw them in the Atrium at the Catalyst and it was fucking awesome. They play all odd time signature polyrhythms on a trash can drum and an assortment of pots and pans. Their recordings are decent but its really more of a live experience. I think it would be awesome to have them play at a something we put on! They live here in Santa Cruz and frequently play on Pacific. Anyways, here's the link, check it out:
